One suspect has been arrested, and two firearms, ammunition, and a significant quantity of cannabis were seized as police intensified operations across the country under the ongoing State of Emergency (SoE).

The T&T Police Service (TTPS) reported that in Tobago, joint forces carried out an exercise on Wednesday at Windward Road, Delaford.

During a search of two unoccupied concrete structures, officers discovered 11.1 kilograms of cannabis concealed in plastic bottles and packets.

In the Northern Division, Task Force officers conducted another operation in a bushy area along Trainline Pinto Road, Arima.

This search uncovered a pump-action shotgun and three rounds of 12-gauge cartridges.

Meanwhile, in the Port of Spain Division, a 25-year-old man from Beetham Gardens was arrested at his home for possession of two magazines and 30 rounds of ammunition.

Additionally, officers from the North Central Division’s Gang and Intelligence Unit, alongside other supporting units, returned to the scene of a recent police-involved shooting in the St Joseph District on Tuesday.

A thorough search of the area led to the discovery of a firearm hidden in bushes along a riverbank.
