Police are investigating the sudden death of a baby in Couva yesterday morning.
Police say around 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, Couva police officers responded to a report of an unresponsive child in McBean Village, Couva.
The parents reported leaving their four-month-old son with the babysitter around 8:50 p.m. on Saturday (November 30).
According to the police report, the parents returned home around 2:00 a.m. and the babysitter said she fed Lucas at midnight and he was fine.
The mother placed Lucas in his crib and went to sleep. She found him unresponsive around 8:15 a.m. The baby was pronounced dead at home.
The body was transported to the San Fernando Mortuary for a post-mortem. Investigations are ongoing.
