Bar­ba­dos po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing an in­ci­dent that led to the death of one per­son in the parish of St. James, ear­ly on Sun­day.

This shoot­ing fol­lows a mass shoot­ing on Sat­ur­day, in which three peo­ple were killed while at a bar lo­cat­ed on Nel­son Street in the cap­i­tal.

The po­lice re­port that around 1:55 am (lo­cal time) on Sat­ur­day, three masked men en­tered Ma­jes­tic Bar and opened fire, dis­charg­ing sev­er­al rounds at the pa­trons in­side.

Three in­di­vid­u­als were pro­nounced dead at the scene, and eight oth­ers were in­jured.

Of those in­jured, six were trans­port­ed to the Queen Eliz­a­beth Hos­pi­tal (QEH) for treat­ment, while two males were treat­ed at the scene.

So far, two of the three peo­ple killed have been iden­ti­fied.

They are Kawa­nee Ako­bi Lash­ley, 24, and Chaubhri An­to­nio Cor­dle-Gob­in, 24.

How­ev­er, the third in­di­vid­ual re­mains uniden­ti­fied.

Po­lice Com­mis­sion­er Richard Boyce has ex­tend­ed con­do­lences to the vic­tims’ fam­i­lies and ex­pressed the Po­lice Ser­vice’s com­mit­ment to bring­ing those re­spon­si­ble to jus­tice. —BRIDGETOWN, Bar­ba­dos (CMC)
