Despite repeated warnings to members of the public to exercise caution when arranging sales transactions online, robberies have continued to occur.

The latest victim was a Barrackpore man who came to Port-of-Spain attempting to sell a Samsung S22 Ultra cellphone valued at TT $4,800.

The 33-year-old man went with his wife to Prince Street around 1:45 pm on Sunday, to sell the item after arranging the sale via the internet.

As the couple arrived, they were met by two men – one of whom was armed with a gun.

The man was relieved of the cellphone as well as his black G-Shock watch which was valued at TT $3,200.

He was later blind-folded and taken to a room and beaten about the head and face, before being released.

The couple later made a report at the Besson Street Police Station and while checks were carried out for the suspects, no one was apprehended.
