One of two men charged jointly with Kidnapping and False imprisonment was refused bail while his accomplice was granted bail in the sum of $350,000 with surety and other conditions.
In the media release the TTPS said Zalim Hosein ,28, and Enrique Gonzales, 18, of Biche appeared virtually before Magistrate Taramatie Ramdass of Rio Claro Magistrate Court and were not called upon to plead. Zalim Hosein was denied bail and remanded in custody, while Enrique Gonzales was granted bail in the sum of $350,000 with surety in addition to the other conditions.
Gonzales has to report to the Biche Police Station every Monday and Saturday during 7am to 6pm, and a curfew was imposed from 7pm to 6am.
Both accused are also prohibited from communicating with the alleged victim.
According to police reports at around 8:20pm on Monday a 28- year-old woman of Charuma Village, Biche was at her home when she was accosted by two men known to her.
Both were reportedly armed with cutlasses and went inside her bedroom and informed her that she was being taken to the home of one of the men.
A report was subsequently made at the Biche Police. The officers then proceeded to Prince Street, Biche and met and interviewed the alleged victim. The officers continued with their enquiries and observed the suspect Zalim Hosein running along Aberdeen Street, Biche. They pursued the suspect and arrested him. The party of officers then conducted further enquiries and proceeded to Rodney Street, Biche and arrested second suspect Enrique Gonzales. They took both men to Biche Police Station were charges were subsequently laid.
