Burglars broke into Thackoordass Service Station in Gonzales Village, Guapo, on Wednesday night, targeting a security safe. Despite their efforts to breach the safe, they left empty-handed.
Police said an anonymous caller alerted the Guapo Police Station at around 3:39 am on Thursday.
Upon arrival, manager Brandon Thackoordass reported that the station’s alarm and CCTV system had notified him of intruders inside the building. The officers inspected the premises and found all doors, windows, and walls intact. However, they discovered a hole in the ceiling that the burglars had used to gain entry.
Inside Room One, police found the security safe. The burglars had moved the safe and attempted to cut it open, leaving visible marks from their tools. Despite their efforts, the safe remained sealed, and nothing was stolen.
Officers from the South Western Divisional Task Force conducted a thorough search for the suspects, but the burglars managed to evade capture. Investigations are ongoing.
