Jereem Richards ran away with gold in the Men’s 400m final, clocking in a new personal best time of 44.54 seconds last night at the CAC Games in San Salvador.
Olympic champion Keshorn Walcott received gold in the men’s javelin throw with a best mark of 83.60m. Following along, Carlton Hosten, Kion Benjamin, Eric Harrison and Devin Augustine took gold in the Men’s 4 by 100m relay final with a time of 38.30 seconds. T&T. In the Women’s 4 by 100m, Sanaa Frederick, Akilah Lewis, Leah Bertrand and Reyara Thomas placed second, receiving silver with a time of 43.43 seconds. The women’s shot put finalist Cherisse Murray placed 6th with her best measured at 16.59m.
In the Canoe Sprint, Nicholas Robinson placed seventh in the Men’s kayak single 1000m final with a time of 4:16.64. For golf, Christopher Robinson ended the final with a result of 71, landing him at 3rd place in the Men’s Individual Stroke Play Final Round 3. In Hockey, our men earned silver after losing 5-1 to Mexico. T&T women won 90-12 against the Cayman Islands in the Women’s Netball Group A match, leading them to play against Jamaica later today. In Women Volleyball, the ladies lost yet another match of the tournament, going down 3 nil against Cuba.
Alexander Dorian was defeated 2-1 in the Men’s 68kg Taekwondo against Guatemala. Trinidad and Tobago’s Men's Water Polo team won their match 16-8 against Guatemala in the 5th to 8th placements with Christopher Forte being top scorer.
Team TTO medal count stands at 17 thus far consisting of seven gold, six silver and four bronze.
