Caribbean Airlines Limited has advised that come Wedensday (August 19), the domestic air bridge between Trinidad and Tobago will operate on a reduced schedule.
However, in a release the airline noted that additional services are in place to accommodate inter-island travellers until tomorrow.
“Thereafter, the airline will continue to closely manage the air bridge and adjust its operations as required,” the release said.
Until August 30, the airline said it will be waiving the domestic change fee for tickets purchased for travel between the islands until September 30.
The airline said in order to ensure social distancing on flights, “passenger loads will be limited and the airline is urging the public to travel only when absolutely necessary. All customers must wear face masks at check-in, while boarding and during the flight.”
The announcement comes as the country enters into a second lockdown period announced by Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley on Saturday. Resembling measures implemented earlier this year, these regulations are expected to also limit the movement of people between islands to only essential travel.
