A dis­pute over a head­wrap re­port­ed­ly cost a CEPEP work­er his life yes­ter­day morn­ing.

Ac­cord­ing to re­ports, 46-year-old Richard Baird was on a job site near Ravine Road and Sec­ond Street, Morne Co­co, Pe­tit Val­ley, around 8.40 am when four masked men ap­proached him.

Wit­ness­es said they con­front­ed Baird about a white jer­sey he had wrapped around his head and cov­ered a part of his face.

How­ev­er, Baird, of Broome Street, Four Roads, Diego Mar­tin, re­port­ed­ly re­fused to re­move the jer­sey and the men re­tal­i­at­ed by us­ing their guns on him. Baird was shot four times.

Baird's wife was re­port­ed­ly on her way to the site o drop off break­fast for him and heard the gun­shots which killed him, Guardian Me­dia was told.

The men fled the scene on foot, wit­ness­es said.
