The Police Service Commission has officially presented Erla Harewood-Christopher with her letter of promotion today.
It means for the first time since Gary Griffith demitted office in 2021 the country has a substantive Commissioner of Police, not an acting one.
Harewood-Christopher becomes the first woman to hold his position.
