Po­lice of­fi­cers in­ves­ti­gat­ing the death of a three-month-old ba­by boy say so far, foul play is not sus­pect­ed in con­nec­tion with the in­fant’s demise.

Po­lice said a 24-year-old woman brought her ba­by son to the Cunu­pia Health Cen­tre around 9.30 am on Mon­day and told doc­tors that he was un­re­spon­sive.

Staff ex­am­ined the ba­by and de­clared him dead at the scene.

The child’s moth­er told staff that the boy was alive around 1 am on Mon­day when she put him to bed.

She checked on him hours lat­er, around 9 am, and found he was not mov­ing.

Po­lice said doc­tors did not find any marks of vi­o­lence and did not sus­pect foul play. Po­lice said of­fi­cers of the Cunu­pia CID are con­tin­u­ing the in­ves­ti­ga­tion. An au­top­sy is to be con­duct­ed lat­er this week.
