Po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing three mur­ders that oc­curred in sep­a­rate in­ci­dents in North Trinidad and South overnight on Mon­day night in­to yes­ter­day.

In south, in­ves­ti­ga­tors are work­ing to de­ter­mine a mo­tive for the killing of De­nesh Ram­cha­ran, who was shot dead out­side a Gas­par­il­lo bar on Mon­day night. An­oth­er man, Shel­don Nanan, 40, of Bonne Aven­ture Road, Gas­par­il­lo, was shot in the same at­tack and treat­ed and re­mained ward­ed at the San Fer­nan­do Gen­er­al Hos­pi­tal up to yes­ter­day.

South­ern Di­vi­sion po­lice said of­fi­cers were pa­trolling along the Bonne Aven­ture Road around 8.10 pm when they re­ceived in­for­ma­tion about a shoot­ing. The of­fi­cers went to the car park of Mike’s Bar where wit­ness­es told them that Ram­cha­ran, 25, of Bonne Aven­ture Road and Nanan were stand­ing me­tres away when a man ap­proached them and fired sev­er­al shots then ran off. The of­fi­cers searched the car park and found Ram­cha­ran ly­ing on the ground next to a car.

Para­medics re­spond­ed and took him to the hos­pi­tal where doc­tors pro­nounced him dead on ar­rival. Nanan un­der­went emer­gency surgery to re­move a bul­let from his left thigh.

Po­lice had not ar­rest­ed any­one for the mur­der up to yes­ter­day.

In the oth­er in­ci­dent in the north, at about 7 am yes­ter­day, Ka­ree­ba Lara, 29, of Don­ald Av­enue, San­ta Cruz, was shot dead while at Moral­do Trace. His body was found just off the road­way. Po­lice said they had no mo­tive for his killing.

Hours be­fore, at about 10.45 pm, Kay­o­de Jack, 22, of O’Keffe Street, Tu­na­puna, was gunned down while stand­ing with a group of peo­ple out­side a mi­ni-mart at Lovell Street, Monte Grande, Tu­na­puna.

Po­lice said gun­men opened fire on the lim­ing group. Jack was found a short dis­tance away bleed­ing from gun­shot wounds.

He was tak­en to the Er­ic Williams Med­ical Sci­ences Com­plex but was pro­nounced dead at 11.05 pm.

Po­lice said 14 spent shells and two frag­ment­ed shells were found at the scene.

Po­lice have no mo­tive for that killing ei­ther.
