Police officers of the Central Division rescued a mother and her infant child from the home of a male relative on Thursday night.
According to police reports, around 9 pm, officers of the Cunupia Police Station went to the Warrenville home of a 39-year-old man and found the woman and her child, both of whom appeared to be unharmed.
Police say that around 5:35 pm, the victim, Anisa Guerra, and her daughter, were taken against their will by the suspect, from the home of relatives at Ghandi Street, St Helena.
Guardian Media understands the man was arrested and remains in police custody.
