Chief Personnel Officer (CPO), Commander Dr Daryl Dindial, has expressed gratitude to this country’s fire officers on behalf of the State, for their invaluable contributions towards ensuring the public’s safety.
He extended the tributes during a recent visit to his offices by the newly elected Executive of the Fire Service Association of Trinidad and Tobago (2nd Division).
A release from the CPO’s Office reports that the union’s new Executive paid a courtesy visit to introduce themselves, on January 11, 2024.
During the meeting, Commander Dindial gave the union’s new executive team an update on the proposed Job Evaluation Exercise for the Fire Service of Trinidad and Tobago. The conduct of a new job evaluation was one of the items previously agreed on between the CPO and the Fire Service Associations in 2023.

The CPO assured the Fire Service Association that the Personnel Department’s Job Evaluation Project Office (JEPO) was well poised to manage the pending Job Evaluation, as it is staffed by a Project Management Team with proven experience in the management of job evaluations.
Other matters discussed by the parties included the proposal of a Group Health Plan, Pension Reform, Travelling Allowance for Officers in acting positions and the inclusion of T-vehicles for traveling purposes. Both parties indicated a commitment to continue dialogue on matters related to improving the terms and conditions of employment for Fire Officers.
Commander Dindial also acknowledged the contribution of the union’s former president, Leo Ramkissoon, commending his dedication and genuine interest in improving the management of issues for the Fire Service, as well as his strong advocacy for better terms and conditions of employment for Fire Officers.
