CXC reopens headquarters in Barbados, closes office in Jamaica

The Caribbean Ex­am­i­na­tions Coun­cil (CXC) has ad­vised that reg­u­lar op­er­a­tions have re­sumed at its head­quar­ters in Bar­ba­dos in the wake of Hur­ri­cane Beryl.

How­ev­er, in a state­ment to­day CXC said, "The safe­ty of our em­ploy­ees and stake­hold­ers is para­mount and there­fore our West­ern Zone Of­fice in Ja­maica, which is now un­der hur­ri­cane warn­ing, will close to­day, 2 Ju­ly 2024, at 12:00 pm EST."

It said it would ad­vise of the re-open­ing in ac­cor­dance with the guid­ance pro­vid­ed by the Gov­ern­ment of Ja­maica.

" Our thoughts and prayers are with those who have been ad­verse­ly af­fect­ed by Hur­ri­cane Beryl’s de­struc­tive path through the Caribbean to date, and to those who are still un­der threat from the hur­ri­cane," CXC said.
