A teenaged boy of Rich­plain, Diego Mar­tin, is ex­pect­ed to ap­pear be­fore a Port-of-Spain Mag­is­trate to­mor­row, Tues­day De­cem­ber 28th, charged with pos­ses­sion of a firearm and am­mu­ni­tion.

The teen was ar­rest­ed dur­ing an Op­er­a­tion Strike Back III ex­er­cise in the West­ern Di­vi­sion on Fri­day De­cem­ber 24th.

The ex­er­cise was con­duct­ed be­tween 9 am and 2 pm in the West End Sta­tion Dis­trict.

Ac­cord­ing to of­fi­cial po­lice re­ports, while the of­fi­cers were on mo­bile pa­trol along Rich­plain, Diego Mar­tin, they spot­ted a teenag­er who be­haved sus­pi­cious­ly. The of­fi­cers had cause to stop and search the 16-year-old boy, and dur­ing the search, one Beretta pis­tol and nine rounds of 14-mil­lime­tre am­mu­ni­tion were seized.

The teen was ar­rest­ed and sub­se­quent­ly charged for pos­ses­sion of firearm and pos­ses­sion of am­mu­ni­tion.
