Driver charged in Anthony Harris hit-and-run

Just over a year af­ter cy­clist and pho­tog­ra­ph­er, An­tho­ny Har­ris, was killed in a hit-and-run around the Queen's Park Sa­van­nah, a man has been charged with the in­ci­dent.

A mo­torist has been grant­ed bail in the sum of $300,000 af­ter ap­pear­ing in court charged with caus­ing death by dan­ger­ous dri­ving.

Naeem Bis­nath, was ar­rest­ed by of­fi­cers in con­nec­tion with a hit and run road traf­fic ac­ci­dent which oc­curred on Sat­ur­day Ju­ly 9, 2022 around the Queen’s Park Sa­van­nah in the vicin­i­ty of flash­ing lights at Pres­i­dent’s House.

Har­ris died in the ac­ci­dent.

Com­pre­hen­sive in­ves­ti­ga­tions were con­duct­ed in­to the mat­ter and ad­vice re­ceived from the Of­fice of the Di­rec­tor of Pros­e­cu­tions.

A male sus­pect was ar­rest­ed and charged in con­nec­tion with the in­ci­dent on Ju­ly 11.

The Trinidad and To­ba­go Po­lice Ser­vices wish­es to re­mind all mo­torists to ex­er­cise due care and at­ten­tion as they utilise the road­ways of the coun­try.
