Employees were safely evacuated from the Petrotrin/Paria Administration Building in Pointe-a-Pierre this morning as part of the building caught fire.
Fire Service personnel were still at the scene a short while ago trying to determine the cause of the fire.
Paria Communications Lead Nerissa Feverk told Guardian Media it was a minor incident that was quickly contained.
She said, "On Wednesday 1st November 2023, at 8.30am, the fire alarm was sounded, and all personnel located at Petrotrin Administration Building were immediately and safely evacuated and relocated to the secondary muster point.
The emergency response was immediately activated, and the Trinidad and Tobago Fire Service are on site."
She said based on Fire Services preliminary findings, the fire was located on the ground floor of the building and has been contained.
She could not say the extent of the damage.
Fereck added that Paria Incident Command team and management met with all evacuated personnel at the car park to provide an update.
