Four men were arrested and a firearm and quantity of ammunition seized during an anti-crime exercise conducted in the Curepe district last night.
According to official police reports, officers of the Northern Division Task Force (West) were on exercise between 8:00pm and 12 midnight, on Thursday 12 March 2020, along the Southern Main Road, Curepe, when they had cause to stop and search a white Nissan B15 motor vehicle.
The vehicle had four male occupants: a 23-year-old of El Dorado; a 22-year-old of Tacarigua; a 21-year-old of Arouca; and a 20-year-old of Tunapuna.
During the search, officers found one revolver and five rounds of ammunition. They also discovered that the vehicle was bearing false registration plates.
The four men were arrested in connection with the finds.
Investigations are ongoing.
