Four men were ar­rest­ed and a firearm and quan­ti­ty of am­mu­ni­tion seized dur­ing an an­ti-crime ex­er­cise con­duct­ed in the Curepe dis­trict last night.

Ac­cord­ing to of­fi­cial po­lice re­ports, of­fi­cers of the North­ern Di­vi­sion Task Force (West) were on ex­er­cise be­tween 8:00pm and 12 mid­night, on Thurs­day 12 March 2020, along the South­ern Main Road, Curepe, when they had cause to stop and search a white Nis­san B15 mo­tor ve­hi­cle.

The ve­hi­cle had four male oc­cu­pants: a 23-year-old of El Do­ra­do; a 22-year-old of Tacarigua; a 21-year-old of Arou­ca; and a 20-year-old of Tu­na­puna.

Dur­ing the search, of­fi­cers found one re­volver and five rounds of am­mu­ni­tion. They al­so dis­cov­ered that the ve­hi­cle was bear­ing false reg­is­tra­tion plates.

The four men were ar­rest­ed in con­nec­tion with the finds.
