In­ves­ti­ga­tions have be­gun in­to the source of leaked pic­tures of the Sec­ondary En­trance As­sess­ment.

Some 18,889 stu­dents sat the na­tion­al ex­am Wednes­day morn­ing.

How­ev­er, pic­tures of the Lan­guage Arts com­po­nent be­gan to cir­cu­late on­line dur­ing the snack break for pupils, be­fore it was sup­posed to be ad­min­is­tered in the fi­nal phase of the ex­am. The Math­e­mat­ics and Cre­ative Writ­ing phase of the ex­am had al­ready been com­plet­ed by then.

De­spite the leak, Min­is­ter of Ed­u­ca­tion Dr Nyan Gads­by-Dol­ly as­sured this did not com­pro­mise the in­tegri­ty of the ex­am, as they emerged while pupils were in the test­ing rooms with­out ac­cess to com­mu­ni­ca­tion de­vices. How­ev­er, Gads­by-Dol­ly said the Trinidad and To­ba­go Po­lice Ser­vice’s Cy­ber Crime and So­cial Me­dia Unit was in­ves­ti­gat­ing the in­ci­dent.

Yes­ter­day, a se­nior po­lice source told Guardian Me­dia that the probe in­to the source of the leak had be­gun and it was be­ing led by the Fraud Squad.
