Investigations have begun into the source of leaked pictures of the Secondary Entrance Assessment.
Some 18,889 students sat the national exam Wednesday morning.
However, pictures of the Language Arts component began to circulate online during the snack break for pupils, before it was supposed to be administered in the final phase of the exam. The Mathematics and Creative Writing phase of the exam had already been completed by then.
Despite the leak, Minister of Education Dr Nyan Gadsby-Dolly assured this did not compromise the integrity of the exam, as they emerged while pupils were in the testing rooms without access to communication devices. However, Gadsby-Dolly said the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service’s Cyber Crime and Social Media Unit was investigating the incident.
Yesterday, a senior police source told Guardian Media that the probe into the source of the leak had begun and it was being led by the Fraud Squad.
