Kiss Baking employee shot dead

An em­ploy­ee of Kiss Bak­ing Com­pa­ny Lim­it­ed was killed af­ter his car was rid­dled with bul­lets while on his way home on Thurs­day night.

Po­lice be­lieve the gun­man was wait­ing in the dark for Ray Mar­cus Phillip, 29, to dri­ve past. Phillip lived at Solomon Street, Chin Chin Road, Cunu­pia.

Phillip’s girl­friend, 42, who was in the car re­port­ed­ly es­caped in­juries.

Ac­cord­ing to a po­lice re­port, at about 8 pm the cou­ple was on their way home from work,

When Phillip at­tempt­ed to en­ter Solomon Street, a man, who had his face cov­ered, was seen stand­ing on the cor­ner of the street. He was point­ing a gun at the ve­hi­cle.

As Phillip con­tin­ued to turn in­to the street the gun­man opened fire.

Phillip’s ve­hi­cle came to a stop in a grassy area just off the road. The gun­man then ran away.

Phillip was found slumped be­hind the steer­ing wheel by of­fi­cers who were on pa­trol,heard the gun­shots and re­spond­ed.

Phillip’s body was viewed by the Dis­trict Med­ical Of­fi­cer who or­dered it be tak­en to the Foren­sic Sci­ence Cen­tre.

Phillip’s girl­friend was tak­en to the Ch­agua­nas Health Fa­cil­i­ty where she was treat­ed for an abra­sion to the right up­per back.

A mo­tive is yet to be es­tab­lished for the killing.
