Pioneering wire bender and mas man Albert Bailey has died at his home this morning at the age of 86.
Bailey was discovered un responsive by his daughter at his Buller Street home in Woodbrook. A district medical officer was contacted and pronounced him dead.
Albert was the brother of mas icon George Bailey.
Bailey's daughter Lee Ann described her father as an amazing artist who was active in the carnival scene up until his death. Despite having both legs amputated four years ago, Bailey continued contributing to the artform, even designing a costume for his grand daughter for an Independence Day event weeks ago.
No date has yet been set for the legendary wire bender's funeral. On Saturday, celebrated mas mas Lionel Jagessar Snr passed away at his home in San Fernando.
