Po­lice and li­cens­ing of­fi­cers cracked down on mu­sic trucks ac­com­pa­ny­ing mas bands near Vic­to­ria Square judg­ing point yes­ter­day prompt­ing a de­lay for mas­quer­aders.

Of­fi­cers re­quest­ed the dri­vers to ex­it the ve­hi­cles as they in­spect­ed the trucks Car­ni­val ac­cred­i­ta­tion.

On the east­ern sec­tion of the judg­ing point, at the cor­ner of Rich­mond and Park streets, po­lice of­fi­cers were di­rect­ing ve­hi­cles away from the judg­ing point.

There were on­ly a few spec­ta­tors at the judg­ing point as rev­ellers from Lega­cy por­tray­ing We Jam­min still crossed the stage at 11.35 am with Juli­et de la Bastide and Big Mike lead­ing the way.

Bliss por­tray­ing Dolce Vi­ta fol­lowed and their mas­quer­aders en­veloped that judg­ing point. Ron­nie and Caro por­tray­ing the Check­ered board, with Yu­ma al­so pa­rad­ed be­fore the judges.

Tra­di­tion­al mas was not left out as min­strels dressed in red, white and black took the stage.

There was no clear road march con­tender as a mix­ture of pre­vi­ous year’s Road March mu­sic was played along with Patrice Roberts song, Sweet Fuh Days, as well as Machel Mon­tano and Su­perblue’s So­ca King­dom.

Spec­ta­tor turnout on the streets was not crowd­ed as com­pared to pre­vi­ous years.
