Police and licensing officers cracked down on music trucks accompanying mas bands near Victoria Square judging point yesterday prompting a delay for masqueraders.
Officers requested the drivers to exit the vehicles as they inspected the trucks Carnival accreditation.
On the eastern section of the judging point, at the corner of Richmond and Park streets, police officers were directing vehicles away from the judging point.
There were only a few spectators at the judging point as revellers from Legacy portraying We Jammin still crossed the stage at 11.35 am with Juliet de la Bastide and Big Mike leading the way.
Bliss portraying Dolce Vita followed and their masqueraders enveloped that judging point. Ronnie and Caro portraying the Checkered board, with Yuma also paraded before the judges.
Traditional mas was not left out as minstrels dressed in red, white and black took the stage.
There was no clear road march contender as a mixture of previous year’s Road March music was played along with Patrice Roberts song, Sweet Fuh Days, as well as Machel Montano and Superblue’s Soca Kingdom.
Spectator turnout on the streets was not crowded as compared to previous years.
