Police are trying to identify a man whose body was dumped at a cemetery in Morvant yesterday morning.
Police said officers from the Morvant Police Station received a report of a body at the Mountain View Cemetery, on Angelene Street, around 7.15 am.
Officers visited the scene and were led to some bushes where they found the body of the man wearing a white vest, a pair of blue jeans, one side of black Nike sneakers on his right foot and a white plastic bag covering his head.
The man’s hands were tied behind his back and his feet were tied with a black and white plastic bag.
Investigators said the man’s body appeared to be in the early stages of decomposition.
Police from the Barataria CID and the Region II Homicide Bureau also visited the scene.
Officers from the Homicide Bureau of Investigations Region II are continuing enquiries.
Cops probe murder in Valencia
And a 30-year-old Valencia man was killed when bandits stormed his home on Thursday night.
Police said Deon Brusco was at his Benny Road, home around 11 pm when masked gunmen ran into his house, overpowering him and a female relative.
The attackers reportedly tied Brusco and the woman up before shooting him in his leg.
Residents heard the gunshots and called the police who visited the scene and found Brusco bleeding.
Officers of the Eastern Division took Brusco to the Sangre Grande Hospital where he died around 1.15 am yesterday.
Investigators from the Homicide Bureau of Investigations Region II are continuing enquiries.
