A Princes Town man who al­leged­ly threat­ened the lives of Pres­i­dent Paula-Mae Weekes and Prime Min­is­ter Dr Kei­th Row­ley is will ap­pear be­fore a Princes Town Mag­is­trates on Thurs­day.

On Fri­day, PC Lewis charged Vinu Dalls­ingh, 65, with mis­use of a tele­phone.

Po­lice said that on May 6, the Emer­gency 999 Com­mand Cen­tre in St James re­ceived a call, dur­ing which the caller threat­ened the lives of Weekes and Row­ley.

The at­tend­ing of­fi­cers sub­se­quent­ly re­port­ed the threats to the Port-of-Spain CID. 

To iden­ti­fy the caller, PC Lewis col­lab­o­rat­ed with per­son­nel from the RAU, E999, Cy­ber Crime Unit and oth­er ex­ter­nal agen­cies. Fol­low­ing an in­ves­ti­ga­tion and ad­vice from the CID’s le­gal team, PC Lewis laid a com­plaint about the of­fence of mis­use of tele­phone fa­cil­i­ties against Dalls­ingh be­fore the Princes Town Mag­is­trate’s Court.
