The mu­ti­lat­ed body of an uniden­ti­fied man was found at Train­line, Quinam Road, Siparia, on Mon­day.

Re­ports are that po­lice of­fi­cers re­ceived a tip from an anony­mous caller, which led them to the body.  It was dis­cov­ered in a small con­crete and wood struc­ture at the lo­ca­tion.

The po­lice say they found the de­ceased with mul­ti­ple chop wounds about the body: the left arm was al­most sev­ered at the wrist; and both legs ap­peared to be sev­ered above the knees and were miss­ing.

There al­so were signs of blunt force trau­ma to the head and face, which ren­dered the man’s face un­rec­og­niz­able.

Po­lice say the de­ceased is of East In­di­an de­scent.
