The North-Central Regional Health Authority (NCRHA) has devised an innovative way of helping COVID positive patients to manage their illnesses.
Claiming their COVID-19 Preview App had been successful in assisting this cohort of people to keep track of their symptoms and receive daily medical advice since it was launched last August, NCRHA’s Chief Executive Officer Davlin Thomas said it has been working.
Speaking during the Ministry of Health’s virtual media briefing yesterday, he revealed that positive patients were typically using the Preview App as much as eight times per day to upload results of their vitals and also seek medical advice.
He commended the staff for what he said was a unique way to “stay on top of their game.”
Increase in staff vaccinate rates from 48 to 81%
Thomas, meanwhile, expressed satisfaction with the increase in staff vaccination rates which had risen from 48 per cent to 81 per cent.
He added that a recently launched drive-thru facility to carry out screening at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex, Mt Hope, was underway and was quite successful.
He said drive-thru and walk-in vaccination sites at the Larry Gomes Stadium had recorded an increase in the past few days as workers from several large grocery and chain-store establishments were accessing the vaccine.
