The North-Cen­tral Re­gion­al Health Au­thor­i­ty (NCRHA) has de­vised an in­no­v­a­tive way of help­ing COVID pos­i­tive pa­tients to man­age their ill­ness­es.

Claim­ing their COVID-19 Pre­view App had been suc­cess­ful in as­sist­ing this co­hort of peo­ple to keep track of their symp­toms and re­ceive dai­ly med­ical ad­vice since it was launched last Au­gust, NCRHA’s Chief Ex­ec­u­tive Of­fi­cer Davlin Thomas said it has been work­ing.

Speak­ing dur­ing the Min­istry of Health’s vir­tu­al me­dia brief­ing yes­ter­day, he re­vealed that pos­i­tive pa­tients were typ­i­cal­ly us­ing the Pre­view App as much as eight times per day to up­load re­sults of their vi­tals and al­so seek med­ical ad­vice.

He com­mend­ed the staff for what he said was a unique way to “stay on top of their game.”

In­crease in staff vac­ci­nate rates from 48 to 81%

Thomas, mean­while, ex­pressed sat­is­fac­tion with the in­crease in staff vac­ci­na­tion rates which had risen from 48 per cent to 81 per cent.

He added that a re­cent­ly launched dri­ve-thru fa­cil­i­ty to car­ry out screen­ing at the Er­ic Williams Med­ical Sci­ences Com­plex, Mt Hope, was un­der­way and was quite suc­cess­ful.

He said dri­ve-thru and walk-in vac­ci­na­tion sites at the Lar­ry Gomes Sta­di­um had record­ed an in­crease in the past few days as work­ers from sev­er­al large gro­cery and chain-store es­tab­lish­ments were ac­cess­ing the vac­cine.
