Nine women became moms at the Sangre Grande Hospital this mother’s day. They were celebrated by the executives of the Eastern Regional Health Authority this morning.
Janiah Joseph who resides in Guaico, Sangre Grande gave birth to the first baby born today at the Sangre Grande Hospital.
“A healthy baby girl named Xiah (Ky-ah) who weighted 3075grams, was delivered by Staff Midwife Marlene David at 3:30 a.m.,” officials reported in a release.
Acting CEO, Angelina Rampersad-Pierre, and Lucy Torres, Member of the Board of Directors recognised all mothers and expecting mothers admitted to the maternity ward and presented them with fruit hampers. The release said they were encouraged to focus on their health and to eat healthy especially after giving birth to help heal their bodies, stave off bone loss and to nourish their babies during breast feeding.
