Nine women be­came moms at the San­gre Grande Hos­pi­tal this moth­er’s day. They were cel­e­brat­ed by the ex­ec­u­tives of the East­ern Re­gion­al Health Au­thor­i­ty this morn­ing.

Ja­ni­ah Joseph who re­sides in Guaico, San­gre Grande gave birth to the first ba­by born to­day at the San­gre Grande Hos­pi­tal.

“A healthy ba­by girl named Xi­ah (Ky-ah) who weight­ed 3075grams, was de­liv­ered by Staff Mid­wife Mar­lene David at 3:30 a.m.,” of­fi­cials re­port­ed in a re­lease.

Act­ing CEO, An­geli­na Ram­per­sad-Pierre, and Lucy Tor­res, Mem­ber of the Board of Di­rec­tors recog­nised all moth­ers and ex­pect­ing moth­ers ad­mit­ted to the ma­ter­ni­ty ward and pre­sent­ed them with fruit ham­pers. The re­lease said they were en­cour­aged to fo­cus on their health and to eat healthy es­pe­cial­ly af­ter giv­ing birth to help heal their bod­ies, stave off bone loss and to nour­ish their ba­bies dur­ing breast feed­ing.
