For the second straight week, there were no new COVID-19 death reported in Tobago, according to the latest weekly update, covering the period Sunday 23 to Saturday 30 October 2022, from the Division of Health, Wellness and Social Protection, in the Tobago House of Assembly (THA).
As such, the island’s death toll from the disease remains at 286, as at Saturday, October 30.
The most recently recorded COVID-19-related death was that of an unvaccinated person during the week of October 9 to 15, 2022.
In addition, the THA Health Division report notes seven more people tested positive for COVID-19 in Tobago, last week. The number of active infections, as at Saturday, October 30, was 58. This represents a slight increase from the previous week (16-22 October 2022), at which time there were 53 active cases.
In terms of hospitalisations for COVID-19, the Health Division reports that six people are hospitalised, five of whom have not been vaccinated against the disease, while the remaining patient is said to be fully vaccinated.
The Tobago COVID-19 update also reports that patients continue to survive the disease as two people were certified as recovered from COVID-19 during the period October 23 to 30, 2022.
A total of 10,898 in Tobago have recovered from COVID-19 since March 2020—up from 10,896 the previous week.
