Western Division Police continued have seized a firearm and several rounds of ammunition in the West End district.
Between 4 pm and 7 pm on Thursday officers conducted an anti-crime exercise in the district on Pioneer Drive, Petit Valley.
During the search, they discovered a black homemade 12-gauge shotgun with one round of 12-gauge ammunition. The item was seized, and investigations are ongoing.
Later that day, members of the Maraval Charge Room conducted an exercise in the district.
During the exercise, the team found a plastic bag, hidden beneath a sheet of galvanised aluminium, containing 27 rounds of .38 special ammunition off the roadway at Celestine Trace, Maraval. The items were seized, and investigations are ongoing into the find.
These exercises were coordinated by ACP Henry, Senior Superintendent Williams, and led by Inspector Raymond, Superintendent De Mattos, and Assistant Superintendent Lynch, respectively.
