Par­lia­ment has vot­ed to make Deputy Com­mis­sion­er of Po­lice Mc­Don­ald Ja­cob the act­ing Com­mis­sion­er of Po­lice.

The de­bate was raised by Prime Min­is­ter Dr Kei­th Row­ley with on­ly Op­po­si­tion Oropouche East Dr Roodal Mooni­lal re­ply­ing be­fore Na­tion­al Se­cu­ri­ty Min­is­ter Fitzger­ald Hinds re­spond­ing.

When the vote was tak­en, all 22 Gov­ern­ment mem­bers vot­ed in favour, all Op­po­si­tion mem­bers ab­stained and no one vot­ed against it.
