Minister of Public Utilities, Marvin Gonzales has visited Picton Fort in preparation for upgrade works to the Water and Sewerage Authority’s Picton 2 Reservoirs.
Hamnarine Bhagaloo, Manager of Pipeline Projects at WASA, said that works, including the pressure washing and painting of the iconic tanks, will begin immediately and will utilize resources and labour from the surrounding communities.
Minister Gonzales was accompanied by Member of Parliament for Port of Spain South, Keith Scotland, members of the Management team of WASA and the WASA project teams today.
He said plans are also underway for additional upgrades to the reservoirs that will improve the water supply to Upper Gonzales, Upper Quarry Road and Layan Hill, along with other areas in Laventille, Belmont and East Port of Spain.
