Prime Min­is­ter Dr. Kei­th Row­ley has joined the many voic­es ex­tend­ing con­grat­u­la­tions to Joshua Re­grel­lo for seek­ing to set at least two Guin­ness World Records.

The Prime Min­is­ter con­grat­u­lat­ed Re­grel­lo in a Face­book post, not­ing he com­plet­ed his at­tempt to set the record for play­ing the Steel­pan for 31 hours, sur­pass­ing his ini­tial goal of 30 hours.

Dr. Row­ley said:

"Even as we await the of­fi­cial con­fir­ma­tion, I ex­tend my heart­felt con­grat­u­la­tions to you, Joshua Re­grel­lo, on suc­cess­ful­ly com­plet­ing your at­tempt."

The PM praised Re­grel­lo’s ded­i­ca­tion, say­ing:

"Your ded­i­ca­tion, per­se­ver­ance, and pas­sion for our na­tion­al in­stru­ment have been tru­ly in­spir­ing."

The Prime Min­is­ter said Re­grel­lo’s achieve­ment unit­ed the coun­try and the di­as­po­ra.

"You have filled a na­tion with pride, and I am sure the pi­o­neers of the steel­pan, both past and present, are proud of you."

Dr. Row­ley al­so high­light­ed the cul­tur­al sig­nif­i­cance of the feat say­ing he "el­e­vat­ed the art form on the glob­al stage."

"This is a tes­ta­ment to the pow­er of mu­sic to unite and in­spire. Your achieve­ment will serve as an in­spi­ra­tion to fu­ture gen­er­a­tions of mu­si­cians, both here and around the world," Dr Row­ley said. "You have made your mark in his­to­ry, and the na­tion cel­e­brates with you."
