Prime Min­is­ter Stu­art Young has met with sev­er­al heads and lead­ers of re­li­gious or­gan­i­sa­tions to dis­cuss the re­form of Trinidad and To­ba­go’s ed­u­ca­tion sys­tem.

A me­dia re­lease from the Of­fice of the Prime Min­is­ter (OPM) said the meet­ing was held at White­hall to­day. 

Min­is­ter of Ed­u­ca­tion, Dr the Hon. Nyan Gads­by-Dol­ly was al­so present at to­day’s meet­ing.

The OPM said at to­day’s meet­ing, Prime Min­is­ter Young shared his as­pi­ra­tions for the ad­vance­ment to­wards a more mod­ern, holis­tic and in­clu­sive ed­u­ca­tion sys­tem in Trinidad and To­ba­go.

The meet­ing’s dis­cus­sions fo­cused on ad­dress­ing crit­i­cal chal­lenges with­in the cur­rent ed­u­ca­tion land­scape in­clud­ing, staffing of va­can­cies, the need for more so­cial work­ers/guid­ance coun­sel­lors and schools’ in­fra­struc­ture.
