An anti-crime operation in the North Central and Northern Divisions led to the discovery of camouflage, cannabis, a firearm and ammunition.

Between 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM on Saturday, officers of the Special Response Unit (SRU), acting on intelligence, proceeded to

Dump Road, Arima. A search of the area led to the discovery of a black bag hidden among a heap of debris on the southern side. Inside, officers found a military camouflage pants concealing twenty-two (22) rounds of 7.62mm ammunition.

Further searches across the North Central and Northern Divisions resulted in the seizure of 150 grams of marijuana and associated paraphernalia.

In another incident, on Sunday, while conducting patrols along Macoya Settlement Road, Macoya, a team of officers observed a group of men gathered in a dimly lit area. As the marked police vehicle approached, the men dispersed in different directions, raising officers’ suspicion.

A search of the vicinity led to the discovery of a firearm and seven (7) rounds of 9mm brass-colored ammunition.
