Police are searching for a group of gunmen who opened fire on them at Upper Haig Street, Carenage on Friday.
Several units from the Emergency Response Team responded and joined in the search after officers called for back up.
A senior officer of the Western Division denied reports that three people were shot dead. He also dismissed reports that a police officer was shot.
