Police are investigating the sudden death of a four-month-old baby boy in Couva on Sunday morning.
Police said at 8.30 am, Couva police officers responded to a report of an unresponsive child in McBean Village, Couva.
The parents reported leaving their four-month-old son, named Lucas, with the babysitter around 9 pm on Saturday (November 30).
According to the police report, the parents returned home around 2 am. They were then informed by the babysitter that she fed baby Lucas at midnight and he was fine.
The mother then placed Lucas in his crib and went to sleep. However, she found him unresponsive around 8.15 am on Sunday. The baby was pronounced dead at home.
A post-mortem is expected to be done to determine the cause of death.
Investigations are ongoing.
