Pres­i­dent Paula-Mae Weekes is head­ing to To­ba­go for five days near the end of Jan­u­ary 2019 is has opened her of­fice to meet cit­i­zens there and is ac­cept­ing in­vi­ta­tions for that pe­ri­od.

A state­ment from the Of­fice of the Pres­i­dent on Thurs­day said her de­ci­sion to be sta­tioned in To­ba­go for five days is "in keep­ing with her com­mit­ment to serve all of Trinidad and To­ba­go."

Weekes, a for­mer Ap­peal Court judge, who was elect­ed to the na­tion's high­est of­fice, in March in­tends to pe­ri­od­i­cal­ly ex­e­cute her du­ties from To­ba­go, the re­lease said.

"Ac­cord­ing­ly, from Jan­u­ary 28 through Feb­ru­ary 1, 2019, Pres­i­dent Weekes will be op­er­at­ing from an of­fice at Mag­dale­na Grand, To­ba­go Plan­ta­tions Es­tate, Low­lands, To­ba­go.

Per­sons wish­ing to see the Pres­i­dent or in­vite her to at­tend an event in To­ba­go while she is there, are asked to email their re­quests to otp.mail@otp.gov.tt.

While there is an of­fi­cial res­i­dence for the Pres­i­dent in To­ba­go, the state of the build­ing, like Pres­i­dent's House, in St Ann's is in need of ur­gent re­pair.
