President Christine Kangaloo is calling on citizens this Corpus Christi to "be mindful of the seeds we sow, and of the things we elect to plant in our lives. "

Her message harks on the Corpus Christi tradition of planting on the holiday.

She said it is particularly important to remember these qualities in times of difficulty.

"May we choose to engage in self-affirming and life-giving pursuits. May we choose to imitate Christ’s qualities of love, forgiveness and sacrifice," the President said in her message.

Kangaloo said those who do that, "can be confident of a bountiful harvest, both in our individual lives and in the wider society."

Corpus Christi is the celebration of the body and blood of Jesus Christ in the Holy Eucharist.
