A mem­ber of the Trinidad and To­ba­go Reg­i­ment is ex­pect­ed to ap­pear be­fore a Port of Spain Mag­is­trate to­day, charged with mul­ti­ple of­fences, in­clud­ing shoot­ing with in­tent to do griev­ous bod­i­ly harm.

JA­MAL BLAKE, of San Juan, is al­so charged with pos­ses­sion of a firearm, pos­ses­sion of am­mu­ni­tion, pos­ses­sion of a firearm to en­dan­ger life and pos­ses­sion of am­mu­ni­tion to en­dan­ger life, aris­ing out of an in­ci­dent which oc­curred on Wednes­day 4 De­cem­ber 2019, in the San Juan dis­trict.

The 24-year-old ac­cused was part of a group of men in­volved in a phys­i­cal al­ter­ca­tion with an­oth­er group on Wednes­day 4 De­cem­ber 2019 at a club in the San Juan dis­trict.

Dur­ing the in­ci­dent, it is al­leged the ac­cused and oth­ers fired shots at the group be­fore es­cap­ing.

A re­port was made to the po­lice, which re­sult­ed in the ac­cused be­ing ar­rest­ed a short time af­ter in the dis­trict.

In­ves­ti­ga­tions in­to the in­ci­dent were car­ried out by of­fi­cers of the San Juan Crim­i­nal In­ves­ti­ga­tions De­part­ment (CID).

Blake was charged by PC Barath, of San Juan CID, on Mon­day 9 De­cem­ber 2019.
