For 20 years, 75-year-old Andrew Cabrero, took pride in his one-bedroom home at Mayaro Road, Libertville.
However, in just a few minutes, the entire structure and everything he owned—from appliances to his clothes—perished in a fire.
At around noon on Sunday, Cabrero watched helplessly as his home was engulfed in flames. There was little he could have done to salvage anything...
Cabrero told Guardian Media that all he has now is the clothes on his back.
He is seeking the public's help to get back on his feet.
“Who wish to… I can't say that I’m hungry and starving, but whosoever wish to, I welcome [the help] ...” an emotional Cabrero said.
At present, he is staying with relatives.
Meanwhile, local government Councillor for Rio Claro South, David Law, says the corporation is trying to provide food support as well as assist Cabrero with accessing social services.
Anyone willing to assist Cabrero is asked to call 342-3163.
