Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley has extended congratulations to Donald Trump on his victory in the United States Presidential Election, which took place on Tuesday.
In the letter written to the President-elect, Rowley said on behalf of the Government and people of Trinidad and Tobago and, on his own behalf, he wished to extend sincere congratulations on Trump’s victory.
“The people of the United States of America have spoken in a clear and strong voice, and your success reflects their trust in your vision for the future.”
In the letter, the Prime Minister added, “The Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and the United States of America share a long and enduring relationship, founded on deep ties across many sectors, including trade, security, culture, and people-to-people exchanges. We look forward to further strengthening our cooperation in the years ahead.”
He ended the letter of congratulations by saying, “I have every confidence that under your stewardship, the relationship with the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and the wider Caribbean Community (Caricom) will continue to prosper.”
Prime Minister Rowley said he looked forward to engaging with the US President-elect in the coming years to deepen the dialogue between Trinidad and Tobago and the United States of America in furtherance of “our common goals and ideals.”
