Eager to experience a winter wonderland for the first time, scores of people turned up for the opening of T&T's first indoor ice skating rink in La Romaine on Friday.
And even though it was not overly cold, patrons came prepared, dressed in warm clothing for the experience.
For $85, customers were given 20 minutes on the ice. The winter wonderland snowpark was also available for $75. Many of the people interviewed had never ice skated before.
Jaime Birbal who brought her niece Karishma Birbal and nephew Aadidev Birbal said the experience was wonderful.
"It is not as hard as it looks. It is comfortable and the guys here are very helpful," she said. Karishma said it was the first time she had tried to ice skate.
The ice skating facility is run by “Ice Caribbean Entertainment District," and is offering free membership as part of its launch.
