Standard 5 students, who recently completed the Secondary Entrance Examination (SEA) were treated to a field trip by NGC CNG Company and online education specialists Pennacool.com.
They were picked up at their school in an OEM CNG-powered PTSC bus and taken to a CNG filling station and were shown the compression and dispensing of the cost-effective CNG after which they spent several hours at Chuck E. Cheese.
Students engaged in hands-on, interactive activities such as pizza-making, video production, and robotics learning.
Following the educational activities, the children indulged in various games and had a joyous and playful experience before heading back to their respective schools.
The five schools which enjoyed the field trips were:
- El Socorro North Government
- Exchange R.C Couva
- Vos Government, Gasparillo
- D'abadie Government
- La Romaine Government
The field trips aimed to educate the students about alternative fuels, and the selected schools were chosen based on their proximity to a CNG filling station. According to the President (Ag.) of NGC CNG Anna Alisa Goindoo, the decision to stage the field trips is part of the company’s strategy to inform and educate the next generation.
“We believe as these students await their SEA results, it’s a perfect opportunity to expose them to non-traditional and alternative fuels. These are our future drivers and road users and as the world transitions to low carbon, sustainable forms of transportation, CNG education is key to their future decisions.”
