Police are investigating a drive-by shooting in Speyside, Tobago, in which seven people were injured. The incident occurred last night around 11:55 pm.
Police say a group of people was standing on the southern side of the roadway outside Nine’s Bar, located at Windward Road, Speyside, when a white Nissan Tiida slowed down near the group.
Several shots were then heard.
Seven people were injured, including:
● A 29-year-old man of Campbleton Road, Charlotteville, who suffered wounds to the left foot and hand,
● A 36-year-old woman of Campbleton Road, Charlotteville, the extent of whose injuries are unknown,
● A 29-year-old man of Campbleton Road, Charlotteville, who suffered wounds to the left foot and hand,
● A 36-year-old woman of Campbleton Road, Charlotteville, who received wounds to both hands,
● A 20-year-old woman of Mason Hall, who received wounds to her right leg and back,
● A 35-year-old woman of Kilgwyn Bay Road, the extent of whose injuries are unknown, and
● A 43-year-male of Lucy Vale, Speyside, who received gunshot wounds to the left side of his buttocks.
Another Speyside man, who is yet to be identified, reportedly received gunshot wounds about his body.
Guardian Media understands the injured persons were taken to the Roxborough Hospital to seek medical attention.
Investigations continue.
