Energy Minister Stuart Young is acting as Attorney General in the absence of AG Faris Al-Rawi who is overseas.
Young has acted as AG on various occasions before.
He is also holding the portfolio in addition to his work as Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister.
Al-Rawi has gone to do “high-level meetings with state agencies and legal advisers on matters of State,” his ministry indicated.
Meanwhile, the Senate meets tomorrow to debate the Foreign Labour Contracts Law to repeal and upgrade existing law concerning inducing workers–and other conditions—regarding employment as labourers in any foreign country, The Opposition uncertain to support the bill, is caucusing on it, officials said.
