A 13-year-old Ari­ma Se­nior Com­pre­hen­sive School stu­dent was robbed by men armed with cut­lass­es on Wednes­day.

A po­lice re­port stat­ed that around 11.30 am, the vic­tim was with oth­er stu­dents play­ing bas­ket­ball on the school’s com­pound when the ball went over the wall on the west­ern perime­ter.

The vic­tim, along with an­oth­er stu­dent, jumped over the wall to re­trieve the ball when three men, two with cut­lass­es, ac­cost­ed them.

The ban­dits took the teen’s Sam­sung A10 cell­phone val­ued at $1,200 and $31 in cash.

The sus­pects es­caped in­to the near­by bush­es.

Turk­ish na­tion­al robbed

of $20 at To­ba­go bar

An ex­pa­tri­ate from Türkiye work­ing in To­ba­go was robbed of TT$20 at knife­point at a bar in Scar­bor­ough.

Po­lice said around 2.20 am on Wednes­day, the 60-year-old en­gi­neer was at the Dutch Fort Bar, lo­cat­ed at Mil­ford Road, when he went to use the wash­room.

A man of African de­scent went in­to the wash­room, placed a knife at the ex­pa­tri­ate’s back and de­mand­ed cash.

The al­leged of­fend­er then stole $20 from the Türkiye na­tion­al and a strug­gle en­sued.

The vic­tim then dealt the ban­dit sev­er­al blows to his face but he man­aged to es­cape.

Venezue­lan woman stabbed

dur­ing row over mon­ey

A 27-year-old Venezue­lan woman from Cunu­pia re­mains in se­ri­ous con­di­tion at hos­pi­tal, af­ter be­ing stabbed sev­er­al times on Wednes­day.

Po­lice said the vic­tim and her boyfriend were at home when an ar­gu­ment erupt­ed over mon­ey, dur­ing which time the boyfriend al­leged­ly stabbed the woman. She was tak­en to Ch­agua­nas Health Fa­cil­i­ty nurs­ing stab wounds to the neck, left shoul­der and arm. Her lung was al­so punc­tured.

The mi­grant was then trans­ferred to the Er­ic Williams Med­ical Sci­ences Com­plex in crit­i­cal con­di­tion.
