Supervisor chopped by employee at work

Po­lice have de­tained a man who chopped his su­per­vi­sor about the body and face dur­ing an ar­gu­ment at work on Wednes­day.

The vic­tim re­mained in a sta­ble con­di­tion at hos­pi­tal yes­ter­day.

Po­lice said the 32-year-old from Pe­nal was at work at the Hous­ing De­vel­op­ment Cor­po­ra­tion’s Waste Wa­ter Plant, Tre­strail De­vel­op­ment, D’ Abadie, when he got in­to an al­ter­ca­tion with the sus­pect.

The in­ci­dent oc­curred at 11.11 am in the pres­ence of the vic­tim’s wife and oth­er em­ploy­ees of DES LIM­IT­ED, who were con­tract­ed to car­ry out work at the site.

Po­lice said the vic­tim and the em­ploy­ee be­gan quar­relling which then turned in­to a phys­i­cal fight when the sus­pect got a cut­lass and dealt the vic­tim sev­er­al chops to his head and left arm.

Po­lice said oth­er em­ploy­ees in­ter­vened and the vic­tim was tak­en to the Ari­ma Hos­pi­tal where he is be­ing treat­ed.

The sus­pect was lat­er de­tained by po­lice.
