The Trinidad and To­ba­go Sol­id Waste Man­age­ment Com­pa­ny Lim­it­ed (SWM­COL) has con­firmed at a fa­tal ac­ci­dent oc­curred at the Beetham Land­fill. It took place at 8:45 am on Wednes­day. 

A state­ment read, “Ini­tial in­ves­ti­ga­tions have re­vealed that a truck be­long­ing to a waste-haul­ing com­pa­ny came in­to con­tact with an em­ploy­ee of an­oth­er waste-haul­ing com­pa­ny, re­sult­ing in that em­ploy­ee sus­tain­ing fa­tal in­juries.” 

The de­ceased has been iden­ti­fied as Mr. Tris­tan Har­riper­sad. All emer­gency re­spon­ders were con­tact­ed and re­spond­ed in a time­ly man­ner. SWM­COL takes this op­por­tu­ni­ty to ex­tend heart­felt sym­pa­thies to the fam­i­ly and co-work­ers of the de­ceased. Ad­di­tion­al­ly, SWM­COL re­it­er­ates to users of the na­tion’s land­fills to ex­er­cise cau­tion while on the premis­es and to ad­here to all health and safe­ty guide­lines.
