Homicide detectives were at a scene of a murder in Chaguanas up to late last night.
A taxi driver was gunned down at the entrance to Price Plaza in Endeavour, Chaguanas, at about 7.50 pm.
Eyewitnesses said Deron Biggart, 26, of Orange Valley, Couva, had parked his silver B14 and got out when a gunman casually walked up to him and opened fire.
The victim died on the scene.
Relatives who were at the scene said he recently received death threats and a report was made to the police but they took no action.
Relatives did not want to comment on the record.
Investigations are continuing.
